1. Introduction

ChatPesa ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use chat-pesa.co.ke, why we collect it, and how it's handled, in line with Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019.

2. Information we collect

When you register and use ChatPesa, we collect:

• Account information: your first and last name, email address, and phone number, provided when you register.
• Payout information: your M-Pesa registered phone number, provided when you set up withdrawals.
• Usage data: gigs you apply for, tasks completed, and earnings history, to operate your Dashboard.
• Technical data: basic device and browser information used for security and to keep the site working correctly.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your ChatPesa account;
• Match you with available gigs and process your applications;
• Process and send payments to your M-Pesa number;
• Communicate with you about your account, gigs, or support requests;
• Detect and prevent fraud or misuse of the Platform;
• Improve and maintain the Platform.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

4. M-Pesa and payment data

Your M-Pesa number is used solely to send you earnings you have accrued on the Platform. ChatPesa does not store M-Pesa PINs — payouts are processed through Safaricom's official Daraja payment channels, and we never ask for or have access to your M-Pesa PIN.

5. How we share information

We may share limited information with:

• Partner businesses, only as needed to fulfil a gig you've applied for (e.g. confirming task completion);
• Payment processors, such as Safaricom's M-Pesa systems, to send your earnings;
• Service providers who help us operate the Platform (e.g. hosting), under confidentiality obligations;
• Authorities, where required by Kenyan law or to investigate fraud.

6. Data retention

We retain your account and transaction information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, tax, and fraud-prevention obligations. You may request deletion of your account as described in Section 8.

7. Data security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No online platform can guarantee absolute security, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

8. Your rights

Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you;
• Request correction of inaccurate data;
• Request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to legal retention requirements;
• Object to certain uses of your data;
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner, Kenya.

9. Cookies and tracking

ChatPesa may use essential cookies or local browser storage to keep you logged in and remember your session. If we introduce analytics or marketing cookies in future, we will update this policy and provide a consent option where required.

10. Children's privacy

ChatPesa is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we learn that a minor has registered an account, we will take steps to delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
